Kutztown University Foundation Celebrates
Third Consecutive Record-Breaking Year

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – (July 20, 2021) – The Kutztown University Foundation raised a record $10,250,332 and engaged with alumni and friends for 8,428.50 hours in Fiscal Year 2021 (FY21), which ran from July 1, 2020–June 30, 2021.  This takes the Foundation over the $10 million mark for the first time in history.

"I am grateful to our donors, alumni, volunteers, and friends for their generosity," said Alex Ogeka, executive director. "I’m humbled by your support in this extraordinarily challenging year.  With your help, we broke yet another record – but our students’ needs are still great.  Together, we will continue to  exceed our goals, ensuring a KU degree is affordable to all who seek it."

In addition to the record dollars raised, the Foundation recognized several achievements for FY21:

- The endowment fund has increased to $43.2 million, up from 34.3 million at the close of last fiscal year. The rate of return on investments for FY21 was 27.7%.

- Homecoming 2020, a week of virtual programming, brought together Golden Bears from across the country – and around the world.

- The 1866 Minute Giving Challenge on October 7-8 saw more than 2,000 gifts totaling $167,323.78 to support our students.

- Two state-of-the-art building projects were announced: The Delight E. Breidegam Building: Headquarters of the Pennsylvania German Heritage Center, and the Wells-Rapp Center for Mallet Percussion Research.

- The Foundation entered into an innovative partnership with Spirit Music Collective, a full-service music production and licensing company that will market and sell the compositions of KU's commercial music students.

- The Foundation Board elected a new Executive Board: Scott Dorn ’75, President; Charles Perkins ’68, Vice President; Susan Ziegenfus ’64, Secretary. Drita Brija, Esq., Mary Green, Thomas E. Kauffman, CPA `92, Kevin N. Rock ’79, Kathleen Stuardi ’83, and student representative Margaret Gehman ’22 joined as new members.
