The KU FUEL Mentoring Experience will align, define, and lead KU business alumni, and other business/community leaders, in influencing and empowering KU Students through a progressive and unique mentoring program. Mentors will tailor their guidance and empowerment efforts with targeted goals and support through a KU FUEL environment and network that creates increased opportunities and possibilities for KU students.
*The Mentor
Mentors will be drawn from the KU Foundation alumni data base, as well as the greater business community. Mentors are to be a select group of business decision makers, owners, community leaders/influencers, or senior directors/managers that will advise, mentor, guide, and counsel KU students. They should have the ability to create/influence internships, part-time positions, and/or employment for the students. They will be vetted through their application, resumé, and interview. Mentors will share their contact information with the student, sparking long-term networking and advising relationships. Mentors will be given a training booklet containing expectations, process, timing, tracking, measurement, communications, etc. They will fill out a tailored KU FUEL application which will define their responsibilities, expectation, and requirements. Active or retired, they must bring great value to the student experience. Mentors should be impassioned about Kutztown University, and willing to give their time and dedication to this program.
