Class of 1967 50th Reunion
May 12-13, 2017
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of their graduation, nearly 60 from the Class of 1967 returned to campus to reconnect. They enjoyed a Friday tea and dinner, Saturday breakfast and robing, marched in the Commencement ceremony to be recognized on stage, then lunched together before departing.
2017 Ladies’ Spring Tea

KU Alumnae from Classes of 1977 and earlier shared memories and treats at the 2017 Ladies’ Spring Tea. They welcomed scholarship recipient of the year Alyssa Stonebraker ’17 and were entertained by the KU Chamber Musicians, while the theme, “It’s Good to be Golden,” showcased the University’s new branding. Ms. D. Jane Joyce ’65, who served as chairwoman of the event for the past two years, passed the “Tea Spoon” to incoming chair Ms. Bonnie Perkins ’68.
2017 KU Presidential Ambassador Induction

Current Ambassadors, KU President Kenneth S. Hawkinson, Foundation Executive Director Tracey L. Thompson and the Foundation’s Ambassador Advisor Mary Neuenschwander were pleased to welcome seventeen new KU Presidential Ambassadors. The group is well-known all over campus - at events, games, giving campus tours. Check out the photos from this year’s induction to see some of the best students the University has!
2017 Dinner with Golden Bears

This year, 140 students shared dinner and animated conversation about their fields with 19 alumni and emeriti faculty who graciously hosted tables to center the night around a variety of majors.
After a brief introduction, Chair Alicia Hornberger ’17 and Co-Chair Brianna Zdradzinski ’19 welcomed students and alumni to enjoy each other’s company and conversation. The students gained insights about ways to stand out to possible employers, as well as learning different possible future paths available for their majors.
2017 Gathering of Gratitude

Bringing scholarship recipients together with donors, nearly 200 attendees were welcomed by the Foundation and KU President Kenneth Hawkinson. Music scholarship recipients Sheridan Brodhead ’18, Dylan Langschwager ’19, Amanda Mawson ’18 and Tessa O’Boyle ’18 provided a pleasant background to a delicious dinner. Student speakers Julia Snyder ’17 and Stephen Hilborn ’17, offered insights on how scholarships have impacted them directly.
Mr. Guido ’74 and Mrs. Susan Pichini spoke about the value of philanthropy, their scholarship contributions that assist Reading students attending KU, and their Foundation volunteer work.
